Minecraft 1.10 --> IMPORTANT!

From now on and until we have updated the server --> Put your inventory in a chest before logging off to prevent loosing the stuff in your inventory!

We will be looking at a new plugin for managing our multi-world inventories, this means there is a high chance of everyone's inventory getting wiped in the process!

On 23. March 2016, we updated to 1.9 - And now Mojang updated Minecraft to 1.10!

We started our current map less than 3 months ago, so it feels unnecessary to start another Reset\Expand world vote before this update.. Mojang will pour out updates a lot more frequent now, according to what a Mojangster said. In that case I think it will be rational for us to go back to starting these votes based on the encouragement from players, right?

Basically, this means that unless a update breaks the current world - we will not automatically have a vote before updating to a new minecraft version! When we are ready for the updates, we'll just update right away unless a vote is encouraged. If appropriate, we'll start talking about expanding borders for the update - But don't forget that you can ask us about stuff like this at any time yourself! You might get a no or you might get a yes, but no one will be mad at you for asking these kinds of important questions ;)

Let me know if you disagree with this change and also feel free to talk about the update here :)

As far as I can tell there will be 3 things that we will miss out on in the current 1.9 generated part of the world:
- Fossils
- Mesa Caves
- Bridges in villages

I think except of the mesa biomes with mineshafts/caves we won't miss a lot, but maybe if we do extend the borders we could add one or two of that new biomes? Would be the best option in my opinion.
Does anyone know yet what those fossils they are talking about are exactly?

Here the patch notes if someone is interested:

Patch v1.10:
----------------

- Many bug fixes

- Added Polar Bear

- Added Husk and Stray

- An auto-jump option

- Improvements to some commands

- Structure blocks for custom maps

- Underground fossils made from bone blocks

- Added Magma Block

- Added Nether Wart Block and Red Nether Bricks

- Some huge mushrooms can be even larger

- A rare chance to find lonely trees in plains

- Find abandoned mineshafts filled with gold in mesa biomes

- Villages generate better paths between the buildings

- More variations of villages, based on the biomes they are built in

- Endermen have been spotted in the Nether

- Removed Herobrine

I agree with only reseting the map when their is a "world breaking" update, but as far as this update goes, I feel we have not spent enough time on the map to consider a reset. So expending the borders would be my vote.
If we never fall how will we learn to get back up?

I agree with xil. the only thing this adds is just some deco blocks and a few new mobs. nothing real big.

We are currently waiting for Tux2 to update these two plugins which are required in order for our multi-world set-up to work:
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/tuxtwolib/
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/multiinv/

Other than that it looks good so far :)

EDIT:
Added this picture that shows the test-server running 1.10 :P When the two above mentioned plugins are updated then we're ready to test and if successful - update the actual SheepServer :)

We're still waiting for the two plugins mentioned above.. I know Tux2 is working hard on getting MultiInv updated to 1.10, but he has said himself that he has to add a lot into the TuxTwoLib plugin which is required in order for MultiInv to work. On behalf of SheepServer i sent a donation to Tux2 as appreciation of his work on the plugin the past 4 years :D

We will wait patiently for TuxTwoLib/MultiInv to update..

Still no word from the developer, I'm afraid we'll have to find a replacement plugin then..

Hey, are there any news about the update progress so far?

..And if the update happens someday, could we do a one day announcement time for giving the players the chance to save their inventory before it? I guess there are many players who currently aren't saving the inventory anymore. Plus maybe a ingame announcement message after logging into the server would be nice too for the rare or none forum users.
